About the Event
NAFSE is partnering with the Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission to offer a field trip and subsequent virtual workshop about writing and updating a burn management plan. You are welcome to attend solely the virtual workshop without attending the field trip.
Field trip: November 4 2022, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
The field trip to Albany Pine Bush will provide an opportunity for the NAFSE community to get together and discuss changing challenges to land management (including climate and invasive species) in-person and with on-the-ground conditions as a backdrop. Field trip attendance is free and open to burn bosses, burn plan writers, fire management officers, and others who make decisions about burn plan parameters.
Workshop: November 9 2022, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
The virtual workshop is designed to provide a venue for regional discussion of prescribed burning and burn planning, including the details of fuel parameters and the risks and rewards of opening the burn window. Specifically, this workshop will invite input into the Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission’s upcoming update of their Fire Management Plan. This virtual workshop is free and open to all.
