August 3, 2026 - NAFSE once again took part in the International Association of Wildland Fire's (IAWF) Mentoring Program and was fortunate enough to work with Aaron Arneke, Master's student at the University of Bremen in Germany and volunteer wildland firefighter with the Waldbrandteam. From our collaborative efforts the Transatlantic Fire Resource Guide was created.
The guide introduces the landscape of wildfire information systems — from real-time fire tracking and seasonal danger outlooks, to satellite imagery, radar, and weather forecasting tools. It closes with a transatlantic knowledge exchange library, showcasing North American and European institutions and organizations committed to advancing and sharing knowledge on wildfires and wildland firefighting.
