NAFSE Sessions on Communications and Partnerships at the 3rd Annual National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy Workshop, held October 21st-24th, 2019 in Plymouth, MA.
NAFSE helped organize two sessions and a talk at the Cohesive Strategy Workshop held in Plymouth, MA Oct-21-24th 2019. We also had a table to peruse the latest research briefs, ask about networking opportunities, and sign up for our mailing list!
The first session was one hour and entitled PROMOTING PARTNERS: A Necessity and Advantage for the Eastern Fire Science Exchanges and features examples of how partnerships have helped scientists and managers connect or advance their objectives in the Appalachian, Southern and North Atlantic fire science exchanges.
The second session was a two-hour COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING sponsored by the Appalachian and North Atlantic Exchanges and run by COMPASS, a communications training company that has a stellar reputation for training scientists and managers in the wildland fire world. This was your chance to gain more confidence communicating essential messages about fire science and management!
NAFSE's Erin Lane put together a talk on a successful project in Maine demonstrating co-production of science with managers.
